Admins use the Languages page to maintain which languages your organization teaches and, per language, to adjust Performance Tiers used in rosters, the gradebook, and reports. Teachers do not configure these values. When you add Hebrew to a new organization, hFlow pre-fills reading tier bands (and related benchmarks) for all configured grades using the standard Hebrew template. You can still edit tiers per grade and school year afterward. Other language names start with generic tier defaults until you save changes.

How to open Languages

  1. In the header, click Languages.
  2. Select a language in the left list before changing settings on the right.

How to add a language

  1. At the bottom of the language list, type a name in New Language (for example Hebrew).
  2. Click Add.
The new language appears in the list and is selected automatically. Hebrew receives template tier defaults; other names receive generic defaults you can edit.

How to review tier bands by grade and year

  1. With a language selected, choose School Year and Grade Level.
  2. Scroll Performance Tiers to see Beginning, Middle, and End of Year bands for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 (accuracy and fluency ranges).
  3. To change sliders, click Edit Tiers, adjust values for each period, then click Save Changes.
Rosters and assessments use the saved bands for that language, grade, period, and school year.

How benchmarks relate to tiers

Benchmark targets shown in the Benchmarks table are derived from your Tier 1 accuracy and fluency settings for each period. That table is read-only. Edit Performance Tiers to change the targets. When you save tier changes, benchmark lines in reading visuals follow the updated Tier 1 values. See Benchmarks for how those targets appear on charts.
